Hello, my name is Michele Knotz and I’ve been a patient of the Ash Center for Comprehensive Medicine for over 10 years. I have chronic back and neck pain due to herniated discs and degenerative disc disease throughout my entire spine. I’ve been suffering with these ailments for a very long time and have tried pretty much everything on the market in order to cure or at least alleviate the pain. I’ve been to 3 chiropractors, 2 acupuncturists, 2 physical therapy offices, and have tried the DRX 9000, and lasers. I first came to the Ash Center for Comprehensive Medicine ten years ago at age 49 seeking their pioneering approach to autoimmune disease and reconstructive procedures. I had been diagnosed with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis one year before but was not getting any relief of my symptoms from the conventional treatment with synthroid. I was still cold, constipated, and unmotivated, “it must be menopause because your thyroid test numbers are within the normal range” my doctor told me. In addition, I began having digestive issues and joint paint, I felt lousy.
“Why was my body attacking itself” I asked, and after listening to the center’s radio program one day I decided to make an appointment, which as it turns out, was one of the best decisions I have ever made. A series of innovative blood tests were done to determine food and environmental sensitivities and allergies, sonograms of my thyroid and carotid arteries were done, a unique and non- invasive stomach acid test determined I was not producing much acid for digestion, and I was immediately prescribed a natural thyroid hormone rather than the synthetic which resulted in almost immediate improvement in my symptoms. I was also given other nutrients to take to restore and replace what my body had become deficient in, a low candida diet to follow specific for my issues, and allergy desensitizing drops to take daily. It all seemed a bit overwhelming at first, but I was feeling better so I persevered.
Now it was time to tackle my neck pain that an MRA showed was due to degenerative disks. It was causing nerve and shoulder pain that affected my lifestyle and sleep. I began a series of injections of nutrients called Prolo-Therapy to the area that tightened the ligaments of the neck eliminating my pain which years later remains pain free. Being an active person, I managed to partially tear both rotator cuffs and this same therapy also eliminated my excruciating shoulder pain without invasive surgery or rehab.

Their pioneering blood test called LRA identified more specific allergic reactivity not detectable with standard tests which when I eliminated improved my sleep and stress levels. Yes, it requires commitment to lifestyle changes and discipline, but when the result is that you have your health back it is worth the effort.
