Heidelberg Test
Eating wholesome, nutrient rich foods will have little health benefit if you are not able to absorb those nutrients. At the Ash Center, we test our patients with a non-invasive gastric analysis test, known as the “Heidelberg capsule test.”
Measuring Stomach Acidity
By swallowing a small capsule in our office and waiting 45 minutes to one hour, we are able to measure your level of stomach acid. In my experience, 95% of patients with digestive problems actually have inadequate stomach acid rather than too much.
Antacids May Be Part of the Problem
It’s extremely unfortunately that many patients take antacids or acid blockers mistakenly believing that they have too much acid in their stomachs. Yet, it is imperative to have enough stomach acid in order to digest the foods you eat and absorb the nutrients.
